When someone presses the Social Alarm button

on the keypad, presses a button on a Social Care

transmitter or starts an Inactivity Alarm, then the

control unit:

1. Starts a loud interrupted tone from the siren

and makes the button glow red.

2. Starts a guard timer.

During the guard time you can cancel the alarm

by keying in an access code twice. The light in the

button goes out and the control unit returns to

standby.

If you do not key in an access code twice within

the guard time then the control unit carries on to

signal the alarm over the telephone network, as

programmed by the installer.



The installer can select a detector in your system

to act as an “Inactivity Detector”. This means

that during a selected part of the day, if nothing

activates the detector within a given period then

the control unit will start a Social Alarm (described

above). If someone triggers the Inactivity Detector

during the guard time while the siren is running

then the control unit will cancel the alarm.

Otherwise, the control unit will signal the alarm

over the telephone network, as programmed by

the installer.
